Illustrator guides not showing.

If you really need to see them, return to IL, make sure the guides are unlocked and choose View>Guides>Release Guides. My smart guides do (did) not work neither: I think that Illustrator lied, when telling me that smart guides where enabled (they where in the View->Smart Guides menu, check mark showing up).
